Draft updated September 8, 2026

Development review draft. The operator’s legal identity and location, production processing arrangements and final notice must be confirmed before public launch. This is not a newly effective policy.

Kitchen Magic is your personal recipe library. This notice explains the information the service uses to help you import, organize, edit, cook and share recipes.

Privacy questions or requests: hello@kitchenmagic.ai.

What we collect and why

  • Account information. Google sign-in supplies your account identity and email address so we can connect you to the right library or household. We do not receive your Google password.
  • Recipe content. We store the recipes, supported source images and documents, edits, saved versions, recipe-chat messages and related cooking information you choose to add.
  • Sharing information. We use recipient addresses and invitation details when you invite a household member or privately share a recipe.
  • Service and support information. We use feature-use events, error and security records, connection information such as IP addresses, and messages you send us to operate the service, investigate problems, prevent abuse and improve usability.

Product measurement uses predefined action events rather than recipe text, photos, source links or search terms. Operational and security records are separate. Avoid including sensitive personal information in recipes, prompts or support messages.

How AI processes your recipes

When you request an AI-powered feature, relevant recipe material is sent to Google Gemini to extract and format a recipe, answer recipe-chat requests, suggest changes, adjust servings or prepare cooking guidance. This can include uploaded images or documents, recipe text and the conversation context needed for your request.

We do not sell your recipe content or use it to train our own AI models. Google’s paid Gemini terms state that prompts and responses are not used to improve Google’s products. Our current integration also allows Google to store AI requests and responses. Google documents a default 55-day storage period for paid processing, with shorter configurable periods. We have not verified a shorter period for this service.

Separate retention and processing for safety, abuse prevention and required legal disclosures may also apply. Deleting a recipe from your library does not automatically delete a stored AI interaction. AI processing is not a promise of zero retention or processing only by computers. See Google’s description of AI interaction storage.

See Google’s AI processing terms. The production service’s paid processing configuration must be verified before this draft becomes effective.

Review AI results against your source before saving or cooking. AI can make mistakes about quantities, substitutions, allergens, cooking times and food safety. Do not submit confidential or sensitive medical information.

No sale of personal information

We do not sell your personal information, rent your recipe library or share your personal information for targeted advertising.

We disclose information as needed to operate the features you request:

  • Google Cloud and Firebase provide hosting, sign-in and data storage.
  • Google Gemini processes relevant content for AI features.
  • Resend delivers service emails, such as invitations and private recipe shares.
  • People you choose to share with receive the access you authorize.

Providers may process service information for their own security, operational and legal responsibilities under their applicable terms. Information may be processed in countries other than yours.

We may disclose information when legally required, to respond to valid legal process, or as reasonably necessary to address fraud, security incidents or threats to people’s rights or safety. A change of business ownership does not authorize disregarding existing privacy commitments; applicable notice and other legal requirements still apply.

Your library and sharing choices

There is no public recipe feed. Your personal library is private; household members share their household library. A private recipe invitation covers one selected saved version, not your whole library.

Later edits do not automatically change the version you shared. Revoking access does not erase an independent copy someone already saved. Share only content you have permission to share.

Storage, retention and deletion

We keep account and recipe information while it is needed to provide your library and the features you use. Deleted recipes can normally be restored from Recently deleted for 30 days; the app shows the applicable recovery period. Original files can remain while still needed by retained recipe versions or authorized copies.

Some information may remain longer in backups, operational or security records, or where necessary to comply with law or resolve a dispute. Removing a recipe is not an assurance that every copy in every system is erased immediately.

Browser storage supports sign-in, preferences, recovery and eligible last-synced recipe views. A dated, read-only copy may remain on your device during a connection loss. On a shared device, sign out and clear the site’s browser storage when you finish. Blocking or clearing browser storage may stop some features from working.

We use access controls and other safeguards, but no online service can promise absolute security or freedom from data loss. Keep a separate backup of recipes you cannot replace.

Your choices and privacy rights

You can edit recipes, use available deletion and recovery controls, manage sharing, and request a recipe export under Account → Data controls. For account deletion or other privacy requests, email hello@kitchenmagic.ai.

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive your information, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, or complain to a privacy regulator. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Applicable exceptions and legal response periods apply; this notice does not take away statutory rights.

Age and changes to this notice

The proposed tester service is for adults aged 18 or older and is not directed to children. If a child has supplied personal information, email us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

We will date changes to this notice and provide additional notice or seek consent when required. A policy update does not retroactively authorize a different use of previously collected information.

Read the Terms of Service for the service’s usage rules, AI warnings and limits that apply where permitted by law.
